“There is not enough room.” The population density in the United States is lower than all European countries, China, India and Thailand. Yes the cities are crowded, that’s why they call then cities. But drive on any interstate and within an hour of any big city there is plenty of open land. If all of the people in the world about 6 billion lived at the same density as the people in Singapore all of us could fit in an area about the size of Mexico. To add a little historic perspective, consider the following. A hundred years ago Charles Dickens wrote about overcrowding in London. Now with four times the population people still complain about London being overcrowded. |
