Mainfest Destiny was the justification for the expansion of the the United States westward across North America in the 19th century. It was championed by some and was derided by others. History has shown that the expansion of the USA westward was in balance good for all the people who had the good fortune to live within the boundries of the country. The pattern of immigration in the last forty years indicates that people from around the world believe the USA is the best availabe place to live.
Every year a million and a half people leave their homes and move to the USA. They vote with their feet against the deal they have back home and for the opportunity they can get in the USA. About a third of those people come here without permission. They vote with their feet that it is better to be a 2nd class citizen in the USA than to be a full citizen of the place they were born. This should be a terrible embarassment to the people who run the sending nations and a source of great pride to Americans. That this is not yet the case is a result of fear, misunderstanding and misinterpretations of history.
At Radical Immigration we can see beyond the shortage mentality that argues if we let in more people there won't be enough resource for us. We can see back to the times of manifest destiny when the USA was growing and most people welcomed that growth. And we can see forward to a time when other peoples will want to join the United States and become part of this the greatest nation that has ever existed. Not perfect but, as we can see by observing migration patterns, the best available choice.
I can see forward to a time when Sinoloa is appling to become the 71st State. You could make a movie about it.
