Radical Immigration is a new idea.  Our intent is to change the way the world thinks about immigration.

    Our objectives are:

                                           MORE
  • -To build a large coalition of people who believe that the Right to Migrate is a basic human right. Join the Movement
  • -To serve as a forum where supporters of the Right to Migrate can share idea, learn arguments and take actions.
  • -To promote and fund initiatives, like the film Beyond Borders that attempts to convince other Americans that there is a Right to Migrate.
  • -To point out the inequities caused in the world by restrictive immigration policies and propose better solutions. Immigration News
  • -To promote, publicize and support groups that try to mitigate the terrible human damage done by bad immigration laws around the world. Links to organizations we support
  • -To support all legislative initiatives that move towards more open immigration policies in the USA and around the world. Our take on the 2008 CIR
  • -To pass legislation at the national level that will make the One Percent Solution a law.
  • Radical Immigration will create awareness that responsible people no matter where they are born have the right to live where they choose.
  • We will help people discover that allowing much more immigration is good for a country ethically, economically and culturally.
  • We will expose the anti-immigrant alarmist as the paranoid luddites that they are.

I agree with some of what you are proposing. I however have just visited South Africa where there are no immigration laws. There are miles and miles of squatter camps outside every major city. There is no way the infrastructure can provide for the millions and millions of people who live in these camps. How would you propose dealing with that?

That's my point. If you're not willing to fight for open immigration in other countries then you are a fraud.
Here is one of your stated objectives:

-To support all legislative initiatives that move towards more open immigration policies in the USA and around the world.
Around the world means every country.

You say you are more critical of the USA because "I am more aware of the immigration policy details here, as a citizen I can have more influence here and I want the USA to stay a great country and I believe that we will do that by welcoming as many immigrants".
Well then go out and learn the immigration policies of other countries. If you don't know something then how can you expect to help change it?
Look up Mexico's immigration laws to start with then check out Canada's, since they are our closest neighbors.

One of the many advantages we have over China is that we do allow more immigration than they do. The way they treat North Korean refugee/immigrants is terribly wrong. I am more critical of the USA than other countries because: I am more aware of the immigration policy details here, as a citizen I can have more influence here and I want the USA to stay a great country and I believe that we will do that by welcoming as many immigrants as we can. Especially from the neighborhood.

If you truly believe in the cause of more open immigration policies around the world, then head over to China and persuade them to open their borders first.
If you won't try where it's harder than you're hypocrites.
Why pick on the U.S. since we have some of the most liberal immigration policies in the world?

Good Questions
SoCalNative
All good questions. I'll try to answer them.
Will all Mexicans move here if we have open borders?
We have had "open borders" with Puerto Rico for 80 years and about 25% of their population has moved to the USA. Right now about 16% of Mexicans live in the USA. Most people like to stay where they were born.
Natural resources and good jobs are always in limited supply. In the USA we have always allowed the marketplace to decide on the allocation of resources. I don't see why we should change that now.
Language, culture and assimilation are real concerns. I have studied the other great aves of immigration and the system and time seems to take care of it. The Irish, the Jews and the Italians all went through the same issue and came out Americans. What we have is a system that is in the margin better than all of the others at producing opportunity and freedom. People want to be part of it and it is good for all of us if we let them.
"I'm trying to understand why anyone would want our borders wide open." I want our borders wide open for responsible people. We have free trade for goods. We have free flows of capital. And now it is time for the world to have free flows of people. If people could leave North Korea and had a place to go the regime there would collapse in months, just like East Germany collapsed. If the Haitians could come to the US to work there children wouldn't starve. Increased migration is a moral imperative. More customers for a business is a good thing. More fans at a ball game is a good thing. More people moving to the USA is also a good thing. Newcomers who are not hiding in the shadows pay taxes, rent apartments and buy stuff. Immigration is a sign that we are doing things well, that our system work and that the great stew that is the United States is adding another flavor.

Tell me more about your side
ok, so people have the "right" to live where they choose? If our borders where opened up to Mexico, most mexicans will "choose" to live here in the US. What about our natural resources? They are obviouisly not in infinite supply. California is facing yet another water shortage. One day, H2o might be more precious than fuel.

What about jobs? Are they in infinite supply? Obviously not-especially now.

What about language and culture that is sovreign to the USA? Don't Americans have the right to preserve that? We are not asking immigrants to forget thiers, but it seems to me that unchecked, unlimited immigration will force ours out of existence though higher birthrates and lack of assimilation.

I'm trying to undertand why anyone would want our borders wide open. If you have an answer-I'd be interested in hearing it.

From where I stand here in California and as a native of this state for nearly 40 years, every person I know in this so called liberal state is against unchecked immigration and illegals being here. We are taxed to death and they are a big reason for it.

Thanks for the kind words.
We have an uphill battle on our hands. But I have no doubt that the next right that people will gain will be the right to live where they chose.
